Who is Phra Dhammajayo!

Phra Dhammajayo - Born 22 April 1944
Phra Dhammajayo – Born 22 April 1944

He is claiming to be the Messiah,  The Center of Nirvana, The Reincarnated Creator Buddha who will lead the soldiers of light to defeat the evil dark forces in the world. No one can question him and the few that did, were thrown out of the Temple immediately.

Most of his followers are college graduates, well educated, follow Buddha’s 8 precepts, well organized and disciplined. They are well trained on how to get donations for the Temple and they are rewarded by spiritual amulets accordingly.

They are so dedicated to him that they leave their families to be soldiers of the light under the command of the Messiah “Phra Dhammajayo” who will defeat the evil in our world!

After Luang Por Dhammajayo, graduation from Kasetsart University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, he was ordained at Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen on 27 August 1969.

He is the honorary abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Thailand and president of the Dhammakaya Foundation. He is the most well-known teacher of Dhammakaya meditation. He is the student of Maechi (nun) Chandra Khonnokyoong.

Who is “The Master” second to none Maechi (nun) Chandra Khonnokyoong!

Illiterate, no formal education, cursed by her drunk abusive father (you will be deaf for 500 lifetimes) and that curse made her “The Master” of Meditation!

Chandra Khonnokyoong (20 January 1909 – 10 September 2000)

Thai people in those days believed that the words of someone’s parents were sacred, and would normally be fulfilled. When Chandra’s father died unexpectedly in 1921, she still wanted to reconcile with him to lift the curse.

A few years later, in 1927, Chandra heard that a meditation master in Thonburi was able to use meditation to communicate with beings in the afterlife.

This was Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro who claimed to rediscover Vijja Dhammakaya, a meditation method believed to have been used by the Buddha himself. He was the founder of the Thai Dhammakaya meditation school in 1916.

Chandra was taught how to meditate and quickly made progress in Dhammakaya meditation and was able to contact her father in the afterlife.

After Luang Pu Sodh died in 1959, Mae Ji Chandra transmitted the Dhammakaya tradition to a new generation at Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen. The house in which Mae Ji Chandra lived quickly became too small to accommodate all her students, and funds were raised to build a new house.

Mae Ji Chandra encouraged meditation practitioners who were still students to ordain after graduation. One of the first of these was Luang Por Dhammajayo, who ordained in 1969. The number of students increased quickly, and in 1975 exceeded the capacity of Wat Paknam. Continuing there became inappropriate.

Plans were made for establishing a new meditation center. Land was donated for building the center by Khunying Prayat Phaetayapongsa-visudhathibodi, a land owner of royal blood.
Luang Por Dhammajayo and Mae Ji Chandra took responsibility for the finances of the establishment. In 1978, the meditation center became an official temple with the name “Wat Phra Dhammakaya” and grew to be the largest Temple in Thailand.
The temple looks more like a UFO spaceship, at the center of the structure is a huge dome (the Dhammakaya Cetiya) covered with 300,000 gold-coated bronze statues of Buddha and 700,000 are nestled inside the temple.
During Sundays and major religious festivals, 100,000 – 200,000 worshippers congregate at the complex. Already a community of 3,000 monks, novices, laymen and laywomen live within Wat Phra Dhammakaya making it the largest temple in Thailand.

Where is Phra Dhammajayo!

These monks are funny!
These monks are funny!

Thai police raided Wat Dhammakaya to arrest Phra Dhammajayo for alleged money laundering and accepting embezzled funds worth 1.2 billion baht  from the jailed owner of Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative bank in 2016. They have been searching the Temple huge grounds for 2 days and couldn’t find him.

This is not the first allegations for Phra Dhammajayo who was charged with fraud in 1999, when he had the temple assets in his name, including 1500 rai of land. The charges were dropped in 2006 against Dhammajayo when he returned the money and land worth 939 million baht back to to the temple. (The attorney general who charged him during that time, suddenly died and the new attorney general dropped all the charges against Phra Dhammajayo).

Wat Phra Dhammakaya is huge
Wat Phra Dhammakaya is huge. How can you find someone in here

Personally, I have no problem with your cult. I like the temple design and architecture, I like that the monks of Wat Dhammakaya has to be college graduates, reaching Nirvana by meditation with crystal ball is fine with me, I like your scam of the more money I give to the temple, the better piece of heaven, I get. Easy fix for my sins!

But I didn’t believe you when you said that you saw Steve Jobs as an angel lives inside a 6-floor building in heaven, hard to believe that Steve Jobs went to heaven, maybe a basement in hell!

And for Damn sure, I didn’t believe you when you said that you are the Messiah, The Center of Nirvana, The Reincarnated Creator Buddha who will lead the soldiers of light to defeat the evil dark forces in the world.

Ok, Mr. God, that was your chance to free the world from the evil dark forces and lead your soldiers of light but where are you hiding! Maybe you went to visit Steve Jobs in his 6-floor-building in heaven!  Messiah or a Miss or a Mess!
