Ayutthaya Temple Dancers

Thannicha Nampanya, 27, of Maha Sarakham, and Nitikarn Chotthanapongsathit, 30 of Khon Kaen, turned themselves in to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district police on Saturday.

They have been charged with violating Section 13 for actions deemed to cause damage to morals or insult to religion and culture, and for actions that jeopardize peace and order in public areas. The offences carry a jail term of up to one month and/or a fine of 10,000 baht.

Models Thannicha Nampanya, 27, and Nithikan Chotithanapongsathit, 30, said, they went to Ayutthaya for a photo shoot on June 12 in exchange for Bt10,000. Nithikan said they visited the temple late in the afternoon for more photos, and while the crew was packing up they decided to dance for fun and recorded the clip on her personal phone. They apologized to the public and Ayutthaya residents for their actions, saying they were just having fun and were not aware of the consequences.
